When Will We See Mona Lisa Smile Again?
Sean Yang
Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, Taiwan
2022, Senior, Art (2014 – 2023)
Reflection

The polluted air makes Mona Lisa have no choice but to wear a respirator to isolate the toxic pollution in order to keep her smile. The city's prosperity has sacrificed the beauty of nature, giving the burden to the environment. From rapidly rising bubbles in the fish tank held by Mona Lisa, the goldfish, as the representation of marine life, stands on the verge of death. In addition, the emitted gas from the factories have directly led to severe climate changes, paving the way for marine animals' extinction.
