I got the idea for my artwork from the wildfires in the western U.S., especially the big fires in Los Angeles. These fires do not just happen suddenly. They are a result of how the environment is getting worse. Even though we know about these problems, many people still act like they do not care. I wanted to show that strange feeling, when we see something terrible but stay calm and quiet. I was inspired by images of forests burning while life continued as usual. In my drawing, the girl sits quietly, showing no emotion, even though everything around her is on fire. A single seedling sprouts from her arm—a quiet symbol that nature still reaches out, even when we seem disconnected. This contrast reflects how people often ignore nature’s warnings—even when they are obvious and urgent. I learned that connecting with nature is not just about enjoying it. It is also about caring for it and paying attention. I hope people who see my artwork will think about how they react to nature’s problems and if they are doing something or just watching.
