Why are They Just Watching?

Reflection
I created this poster to show how oblivious humans are to the damage they cause marine life when they leave waste and create sound pollution in the oceans. I was inspired by how humans only see what’s above the surface of the water. Although the whale’s tail looks beautiful as it is splashing out of the water, the people on the boat cannot see the whole story. Beneath the surface is a right whale struggling as it is trapped in fishing line and affected by sound pollution. Through my research on right whales I have learned that items like fishing line often get caught around the whales and can cause harm to them. I also learned about sound pollution, which interferes with how whales communicate to each other and hunt prey. As an attempt to help the right whale, I will make sure that when I go to the beach, my trash does not end up in the ocean.
