Although I hear reports on climate change noting its tied roots to air and sea pollution, the only type of contamination I am familiar with is human waste. Without any major bodies of polluted water near my area and with the air getting fresher as we approach summer, I cannot truly pinpoint air or water pollution as a major source of climate change with my personal experiences. But what I do see is human garbage littered on every corner of every street, but no one pays any due attention to them, and truthfully, sometimes I don't either. But I realized that this was exactly the problem. Due to the visible insignificance they pose to us as people slowly adapt to their presence, we often forget their increasing threat to our survival. So, as I began to imagine my potential piece, I aimed to make the garbage seem more threatening and intimidating. To do so, I incorporated another relevant global conflict within my brainstorm, getting inspiration from the ongoing wars in our world. As a result, the bombing jets took the form of trash bags, and their missiles were gigantic and commonly disposed of trash. Moreover, as I drew my piece, I learned more about the sources of climate change and its effects, such as how manufacturing goods and forestry lead to massive carbon emissions. These carbon emissions would form a blanket in the atmosphere and trap heat, causing the earth to heat up like an ice cream in a car under the sunny sky. In addition, I also learned that many more artists expressed the issue in their own creative ways. The artist community's efforts to raise awareness about the issue motivated me to begin and continue my project till the end. I hope the viewers will take note of my message to help resolve climate change, along with so many other pieces to marvel at.
