This diverse and talented group of students will design and lead a new by-youth, for-youth environmental program; and contribute their experience, creativity, and insight to inform, advise, and shape Bow Seat’s educational initiatives and international outreach. Through their work with the Future Blue Youth Council, they also will engage with and learn from leaders in the ocean conservation community, as well as create opportunities for connecting young environmental advocates through collaborative, encouraging, and empowering programming.
“Since I founded Bow Seat in 2011, it has been my hope to connect young people around the world to work together on creative projects for our oceans,” said Linda Cabot, founder and president. “I am thrilled that this dream is coming to fruition as Bow Seat celebrates our tenth anniversary. The Future Blue Youth Council is an incredible group of passionate young leaders, and I can’t wait to see what they will accomplish together. As environmental work can often be arduous and overwhelming, the Council also will be a welcoming and uplifting space of support, refuge, and friendship.”
