Climate change is a global issue that can no longer be ignored; my art piece brings awareness to this problem. The human hand symbolizes activities such as driving, flying, manufacturing, deforestation and generating electricity which are devastating causes to climate change. Wherever the hand touches the coral, the coral bleaches, leaving behind a trail of dead coral. Coral is a very delicate organism that needs very specific living conditions, and a specific temperature. The thermometer with the fire underneath indicates the rise in temperature that will occur. Glaciers will start melting and sea level will rise, flooding our coastal cities and even our tallest buildings. Before we know it, what we’ll end up with is a horrible ocean, even an uninhabitable earth beyond our recognition for ALL organisms. Time to change what is happening. Time to heal and protect our beautiful ocean!
