Reflection
When I started this animation, I felt restless. With all the information being posted about damaged ecosystems, plastic pollution, and more, it's very easy to lose hope when the world faces a major detrimental crisis. I often think of my younger siblings because they're part of the future generation that will grow up facing these issues head-on. Part of the message in the animation is that we have to make the first move to begin creating impact. One person's actions matter, and when more people lend a hand, the stronger and more lasting the impact will be. When people take action against challenging crises, they will find that they're not alone, and this is something that always gives me hope. People are willing to help and listen. After researching how people clean oil spills and seeing hard numbers on how much plastic pollutes our oceans (about 8 million metric tons), I learned that as a collective, we still have a long way to go if we want to work through our pollution and climate problem. Researching efficient ways to be eco-friendly and contribute to global clean-up while providing support for the coming generations is important not only to me but should also ring true for a wider audience. Together, we can make a change.
