Reflection
After my teacher introduced the project, the idea came quickly. I imagined a transition—touching paper to be transported into a forest. Then I thought: what if we touched another everyday object with a problematic origin, like a phone? I wanted to expose hidden truths. I built the story around a girl who gains the power to see the origin of what she touches by eating a magical chocolate. Where will that power take her when she touches a phone? Both fiction and reality inspired me. The movie Tomorrowland sparked the idea of teleporting by touch. Real events like deforestation, wars, and the exploitation of African lands for phone materials gave me the urgency to speak out. The contrast between Greta Thunberg and Donald Trump’s speeches also deeply influenced me—I included them to show society’s opposing views. I feel euphoric, unstoppable. I learned that ecological issues are deeply connected to human choices and injustice. The problem isn’t just environmental—it’s social and global. Change requires more than recycling; it demands awareness and action. Wake up—before it’s too late.
