Reflection

My film idea started with a memory. When I was little, my dad made a ninja star out of a restaurant receipt. That’s when I first learned origami. At first it was just fun, but now it’s something I do all the time. It helps me chill out after school, kind of like a prize for getting through the day. Later I went to an art camp and learned about stop motion. I thought, why not mix the two? I’d never made a film before, and I wanted to try something new. I picked animals for my story because they show emotions even if they don’t talk. An elephant might look strong and tough but could be sad inside. A bird might seem wild and free but is really looking for home. Folding them out of paper and making them move helped me think about how they might feel—and how I feel too. Stop motion takes patience, but I like that. You move things just a little each time, and it makes you think about every part of the story. It gave me space to slow down and be more creative. This project made me wonder a lot about nature. How do animals act when they’re scared or being hunted? It made me think maybe they feel things like we do. That connection made me curious and more aware. My message is to notice what animals might feel. We don’t always think about it, but they have their own lives and emotions too. Nature is not just something outside—it connects to how we feel inside. I chose the title “Animo-tion” because it combines the words “Animal” and “Emotion”. Also, “Anima” in latin means life and “motion” references stop motion. I hope the audience enjoys my film, Animo-tion.
