Reflection
My inspiration came from a summer camp experience. That summer, I joined a nature school program where I spent time in the forest with a group of children. We learned about plants, observed animals, and listened to Indigenous elders share their relationship with the natural world. During that time, I truly felt that nature is not just the environment around us, but more like a wise elder—teaching us respect, patience, and coexistence. I chose digital painting as my medium to express the harmony between humans and nature. The woven architecture in my artwork symbolizes the interconnection between human culture and the natural world, while the lush greenery represents vitality and hope. Through this piece, I gained a deeper understanding of the theme “Looking Inside, Going Outside.” Looking inside means reflecting on our own connection with nature; going outside means turning that awareness into action—getting closer to and protecting the environment. Art allows me to give form to these feelings and realizations. It helps me see that everyone can connect with nature in their own way, and that creativity is one path toward awareness and care. Can we slow down, look inward, and truly hear the voice of nature again? And from there, step back outside to rebuild a deeper, more meaningful relationship with the world around us?
