My work depicts the pandemonium scene of plastic waste being carelessly discharged into the marine environment. Based from where I live of which is Indonesia, myriads of species and life forms inhabit the waters of this archipelago. However, the people dominating this exquisite land do not have a strong concern for the preservation of the ocean. Consequently leading to neglect and pollution. I have a strong opinion that the effects would be rather fatal which is why I decided to come up with this idea. The person in the middle represents the human life form. Also, it is seen that the pupil is absent; this means that we are not realizing the effects of our activities. Or in other words, we are blinded by our carelessness. I also illustrated a variety of oceanic life forms of which are living in an unsuitable, repulsive and polluted conditions as a result of all the un-biodegradable plastics being thrown away in their habitat. On top of the ocean, is a fisherman boat, which represents human activities and industrial waste gradually destroying the ocean and affecting the organisms in it. I focused on adding lots of details to really show that this is a big problem, which we need to solve. I added many details to add more life and a dramatic feel to it, using ink as the media.
