Reflection

Blindness: Everything started as a fire in the hills of my town due to high temperatures people don't even get alarmed multiple times in summer the hills burst into flames nobody worries it was my main inspiration a world that has normalized the chaos caused by climate change a mix of rage and helplessness that fed my creativity to capture that feeling of inability to help I chose the digital medium because it is easier to raise awareness and reach more people I have been learning digital art for about four years and I feel I connect with people my work is based on events that happened to me and my community and how people are so absorbed in their problems that no one looks at the fire in the drawing everyone wears masks to breathe better but still don't care about the environment there will come a time when the air is polluted and people will continue as if nothing is wrong climate problems affect everyone including indigenous people in one corner people are collecting trash putting it in bins one handmade and the other metal an indigenous street vendor walks with her grandchildren her face tired and calm because she feels her age means she can do nothing the little girl beside her is innocent and unaware while the older boy is angry because no one notices the fire. And that's what breaks my heart, that this is a metaphorical image of what I experienced, that only people looked at that fire and crossed the street without saying anything.
