Reflection

My artwork is about how nature is destroyed daily and is replaced by tall buildings and skyscrapers. The woman in the image is looking down at a forest with skyscrapers at the back, pitying the trees that are about to face the inevitable future of being cut down. I hope that my artwork can spread awareness of how fast our trees are being demolished,and how it happens more often than we think. I chose to use paint as i work better with it on bigger canvases. The theme: "Looking Inside, Going Outside" inspired me to think deeper into the theme of "Deforestation". I decided to expand furthur than just "burning and chopping trees down" but to actually think about what are the causes and how we are unconciously watching this all happen everyday with all the construction around us. The hands pulling onto the ropes(which are commonly used in construction) tells us that the girl walking on the construction site is trying to pull away and resist the construction to save the trees and forests harmed in the construction process.
