Dilemma

Reflection

I chose to use the device of irony to carry my voice in this art piece. It illustrates rising sea levels through a scene of a woman hanging the Earth's surface pieces to dry them. The surface lands are dripping, indicating the significance of the melting of the ice sheets, mountain glaciers, and other land-based ice. The appearance of the surface land itself also presents this fact. The gradual erosion of the coastlines reshapes the original landscape of the Earth's surface by increasing the sea area portion. In addition, viewers can see that the planet body of Earth on the bottom left is deserted and dehydrated, cracking under a bad situation. After the peeling of its planetary skin, Earth is exposed to its lower crust and thus its dismal hypostatic drought, emphasizing and warning the essentiality of people's conservation toward water usage.
