We discovered that citizens are aware of global warming, but lack the motivation to act. We decided to create a short film bearing enough weight and power to awaken others about the severity and urgency of climate change. We intended to “collect” the different “voices” of beings affected by climate change, drawing the lines on our (as humans) indifference towards nature and its victims’ hardship. We concluded with a provoking thought: our ruthless actions are destroying ourselves. We need nature, but it doesn’t need us. After two months of research, film scripting, interviewing, filming, video editing, and lyric writing and song recording, our team presented Echoes From the Deep, a short film on climate preservation. We also hosted a successful movie screening advocacy event, promoting day-to-day actions (like the reduction of beach holidays and wasting medical masks) to our audiences. All our hard work paid off—during our most recent event, we overheard an eight-year-old boy‘s conversation with his mother: “I think we should take the bus home today; green transportation, right?” From that moment, we truly realized that our actions have truly made an impact on others.
