Greyscale: An Ocean Without Color

While doing research, I found out that as temperatures and waters rise, ocean water can't hold as much oxygen. These rising temperatures leads to less oxygen which leads to vision loss in some marine species like octopuses, crabs and squids. I drew the octopus with a very scribbly-contour line drawing. I wanted my piece to have a mysterious and eerie vibe. I chose to draw and paint this piece in grayscale because marine species are losing a vital part of their survival. Decreased vision and blindness makes them more susceptible to predators. As and artist color is vital to me, so I chose to omit color from this piece to symbolize that.
