I was inspired by the fact that people in certain areas are unable to have clean water. Although it is such an important resource, clean water is a privilege. I felt that I needed to contrast how we waste water and how many people do not have a clean source of water. To demonstrate this, the foreground is a bathroom overfilled with bathroom supplies as an over-exaggeration of pollution and water waste. Right outside, on one of the buildings, is an ad of a child who does not have regular access to clean drinking water is ironically holding a water bottle, with the sarcastic catchphrase "got water?" In the process of creating my artwork, I wanted to convey that people should care about wasting water. I thought about how selfish we are, as a society, for making a profit on water resources, yet we are not ensuring that everyone has the basic necessities. In the future, I will continue to make small changes to my lifestyle, like turning off any running water, minimizing my water usage, and informing other people of the actions that they can take to conserve water.
