Reflection
I was always a nostalgic person who loved hoarding the smallest receipts, letters, photos, stamps, and keychains. But one year ago, my eyes were truly opened to how much I actually emotionally and physically connect to nature. I was in a cab, going to my cousin's house when I noticed that the car handles had aromatic garlands of jasmine wrapped around them. I was so intrigued by it. When I asked the cab driver about it, he told me that his late wife loved wearing jasmine flowers, so he keeps them in his car in her memory. That is when I had this almost cinematic internal realization that we are all just living, breathing fragments of nature. My grandmother too wanted me to always remember my sacred bond with nature. Every time I have these sudden awakenings, I remember one of her sayings. Exploring and presenting my thoughts through film, in particular, was something I genuinely enjoyed. Through this process, I learned to consciously acknowledge how I overcame many mental hurdles in my life through nature. I have always found the projection of physical standards to be so exhausting, but when I noticed that many parts of my body resemble nature, that understanding was truly refreshing. I hope my viewers too will share this raw realization and learn to appreciate the healing bond we share with nature and find hope through nature’s wonders.
