Reflection
Next Stop: The Jungle is an artwork that invites viewers into a world where nature reclaims the constructed spaces of urban life. Using colored pencil and acrylic paint, I created an image of a subway entrance overrun with vibrant plant life. This piece explores the tension and potential harmony between nature and technology. The subway, a symbol of industry and modernity, becomes a vessel for wild growth, transforming from an urban transportation system into a living, breathing ecosystem. I used colored pencil to highlight detailed textures in the plants and acrylic paint for the backgrounds that make the jungle feel immersive and alive. It asks the viewer to imagine a world with less human influence one where nature drapes over our creations. Through "Next Stop: The Jungle," I wanted to capture a moment of transformation, where the artificial is ultimately overtaken by the natural. It's a reminder that even in the most unlikely places, life finds a way to grow.
