Not Quite Snail’s Pace

Reflection

The reason I made a Rough Periwinkle Snail depicted to be vacationing to Alaska is because Rough Periwinkles are migrating there due to climate change. I made the piece using watercolor and some black marker to line the foreground. I was inspired by the irony that a slow snail moving across the ocean was having an immediate fast impact on the Alaskans ecosystem. I've learned that climate change effects every aspect of the biosphere and humans are the biggest polluter on Earth. Due to this information, I will now begin to lower my emissions by walking to school more often rather than driving as well as carpooling with a friend to places when walking or biking isn't an option.
