Reflection
My work was inspired by my connection to the beach. Since I was a little kid, I have been amazed by the perennial beauty of the oceans. Whilst in the process of producing the film, I learned how to think globally, take actions, and have hope; to create impact while considering the health of our planet. The film’s intent was to exude and reflect hope through what we can do with our everyday actions. Actions, such as planting trees, fishing responsibly, buying local products, and reducing red meat consumption can impact communities and our blue planet in a positive manner. The process of creating art raises feelings of love and commitment within myself, and I also feel more conscientious about the oceans. I am motivated by the global, interconnected community of youth that has used the power of technology to raise awareness. These young people are more concerned than ever before and inspire us to help alleviate our current problems. This project has increased my awareness and helped me understand the importance of education as a means to social change. Though we may be young, we will continue to teach people how to change their lifestyle to have a generational impact. Governments can work together to solve common problems just as we have learned from the current pandemic. We have learned to strive to find a balance between enjoying the oceans without polluting or destroying them.
