There have been many movements to protect water from pollution and other various unnatural disturbances. All of this is done in order to ensure that everyone today and in the future will have access to clean water. This not only includes humans, but animals as well, especially sea life. In order for all of us to live, water is a necessity, which makes it precious. What else is precious? Babies. They are pure, delicate and uncorrupted by the pollution in this world. We should protect water, just as we protect babies, because both will impact our future depending on the way they are treated. After doing a bit of research, I discovered the Native Orca Symbol, also known as a Killer whale. In First Nations culture, some believe that it symbolizes protection. They are said to be the “Lord of the Ocean” and are essentially their guardians. I painted the whale hugging the water baby, shielding it from harmful substances. We, as decent human beings, should strive to be like the Killer whale, in order to keep our precious water untainted by corruption.
