Reflection

I painted a scene depicting a girl feeling depressed, while a human-shaped iceberg emerges to console her. The girl's depression stems from her frustration at not being heard when she tried to raise awareness about the escalating temperatures caused by climate change. In this artwork, the human-shaped iceberg represents a hero, providing solace and support to the girl. Through this painting, my intention was to convey that there are individuals who, like superheroes, are working tirelessly to combat climate change. Specifically, I chose to portray an iceberg as a hero to symbolize Lewis Pugh, an endurance swimmer and environmental activist. Lewis Pugh has swam in freezing waters to draw attention to climate change and its impact on ice. I believe he is a genuine hero, and I aspire to follow in his footsteps. By raising awareness about climate change through my art, I hope to make a positive difference for the Earth and humanity. Completing this artwork brought me joy, as it reinforced the notion that the things I love to do can also contribute to helping the planet.
