My artwork shows emperor penguins, polar bears and seals escaping their homes on a small sailboat. Sea turtles and piping plovers are also with them, fighting for their lives. Although these animals live very far from each other, they are all at the same place searching for a new home. Due to glaciers melting in the Arctic, the Arctic animals have been swept away from their original habitat by the waves, meeting up with the animals found in the Pacific Ocean. Together they help each other, hoping to find a better place to stay. My artwork was mainly inspired by refugees that have fled from their homeland and crossed borders to find safety. This work is a reminder of the consequences of global warming on the environment and the lifestyles of the living creatures on Earth. This work may have used animals as subject matter, but this scenario could apply to the human beings as well if no action is taken.
