Reflection
I often get lost in the ideas in creative endeavors. There are so many deserving sad and hopeful things happening with climate change and the ocean right now. I picked coral spawning because I think it is something unique. Most people know about coral bleaching, but how do we bring them back? How is the next generation of (us as well as corals) being affected? I went to a great lecture about Hope for Coral Reefs at the Cal Academy of Sciences by Rebecca Albright, PhD. She was very knowledgeable and was so passionate that she inspired me to create this video. I decided to use a lot of footage from their lab as well as NOAA (because public domain). I wanted to focus on the information and get it right and have super accurate visuals so I went to the primary source without actually going to the coral reefs. Although I do not live or interact with coral in my everyday life there is but two degrees of separation because of the oxygen I breathe every day.
