Reflection

Climate change is quickly changing the world around us. Soon, our species may find themselves at a loss as the environment around us changes faster than we can adapt. How will the human race survive as the Earth heats up? As sea levels rise, dry land will become scarce, and land animals will be forced to travel elsewhere, namely: the ocean. To survive in their new aquatic habitat, humankind would either have to don scuba gear full time or assume qualities of marine animals. What would the world look like when inhabited by fish with legs? The storefronts show just how different culture and daily life would be in this hypothetical future. Though my artwork may appear humorous and lighthearted at first glance, the reality is hardly a joke. As climate change continues and worsens, humanity may cease to exist, at least in the form we are familiar with. We as a species need to step up to combat climate change and save the Earth while we still can.
