Reflection
We created the film because we felt that it was a chance to spread the word about ocean pollution. First we decided that we would create a parody to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/ What a Wonderful World” by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Then we created our lyrics that would express how the oceans are being polluted. When creating the film we used green screen editing programs, so that the backgrounds of the clips complement the lyrics of the song. We tried to find different pictures of beaches and oceans ridden with trash, and also found photos of animals in need so that we could have visual support for our lyrics. In addition to this we used some facts in the song so it would be informative as well as interesting. Sifting through pictures, we saw all of the different kinds of pollution that endanger our marine animals and beaches. We were inspired by the pictures of animals’ lives to create a video and spread the word out about the terrible trash in the beaches. Also, we were inspired by water being unhealthy for people to drink the water and people dying and getting sick because of unclean water. This project means a lot to us because it spreads awareness about all of the trash on beaches and in oceans. It is also our chance to inform the world about the ocean pollution and tell everyone that we need to work together to save our oceans.
