Climate change has been one of the most severe problems on the Earth, however; people still keep doing what causes destruction of the world. A minute, localized change in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere. People keep working on deforestation and burning fossil fuels for their own benefits, thinking that their activities are worth it for little bit of pollution. However, as climate changes, numerous species are being threatened, altered, and lost on the Earth. For my artwork, I have expressed a polar bear suffering throughout his life due to global warming. When he’s young, there was not much threatening, but the iceberg he’s sitting on is slightly tilted. In his youth, he is hanging off the iceberg, about to die. When he grows up, he is now falling to his death. The darkness that is surrounding him is greenhouse gas, which is one of the main causes of global warming. The death of future is coming toward us, and the tragedy has already started progressing in the present time. The Earth is not owned by humans. It is possessed by everything on the Earth. We don’t have a right to murder others for our own benefits. Everyone knows that we still can live without those advanced technologies and urbanized lands. What we need right now is a deeper consideration for both the present and the future of all of us.
