Reflection
I created this short film based on the real event of Japan dumping radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean. I designed the characters to represent different groups of people in society. Dr. Shilling is representative of people who love to judge others illogically and support the dumping of radioactive water; Dad symbolizes people who are so unknowledgeable that they only follow what others say; and Lucy represents minorities who are always being overlooked but are actually able to see the truth. I kept the film in black and white to demonstrate how people always judge and segregate the world into good and bad. But the reality is that the world and the truth are more colorful than just black and white. As humans who are responsible for our Earth, we need to think in different dimensions and make more reasonable decisions to benefit Mother Nature and ourselves as a whole.
