Reflection
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always felt drawn to the ocean, intrigued and fascinated by the diverse marine life that call the ocean home. However, my curiosity for the ocean has helped me come to a deep realization. People have begun to develop the fixed mindset that their actions towards the planet don’t result in lasting effects on the environment. The “it’s not my problem” and “too small to make a difference” mentality has taken a very large toll on the ocean and its marine life. As a result, I wanted to convince people that every effort counts, and together as a whole, we hold the potential to make a difference. I wanted to contribute towards climate change in a way that everyone could relate to, so I created a song that was simple, catchy, and straight from my heart. After hearing my song, I want people to feel inspired and motivated to step up to the plate and make a positive impact on climate change. Through the whole songwriting process, I’ve come to realize that all of my actions, no matter how big or small, have consequences. I’ve learned that it’s my own responsibility to ensure that I affect the environment in a positive way. I hope that through my song, people realize that their actions have consequences on the ocean, whether they choose for it to be positive or negative. If we all try to make a difference, we could easily save the ocean.
