Reflection

Water access, a fundamental human need, is being compromised due to a little difference in skin color or wealth. My piece encompasses the anger and shock that researching environmental justice brought me. I realized my privilege, simply due to the region I was born into. I hope viewers will be aware of the difference in the availability of water in society, but also realize the possibility of overcoming this disparity. Through this piece, I was able to examine water as a mirror reflecting the lack of justice today. I truly believe that despite the grim image created; the future will hold a just society, where everyone will be equal. I have learned and reflected on how small differences have been a large gap between individuals and the ongoing discrimination that lays behind the scenes in even the most essential human need.
