Reflection
When I looked at pictures of what's really happening to the world behind the scenes, it was clear to me that we, as a whole community, are just doing more damage than replenishing to the earth. I found myself asking, "Why are there so many people still trying to restore the environment when the majority are doing nothing?" Then, I finally understood that they’re driven by a powerful thing called hope. Hope is what influences these extraordinary people to dedicate their time to trying to prevent our globe from falling apart. They are an inspiration to many others, but especially to me. As John F. Kennedy once said, "One person can make a difference and everyone should try.” I realized that even though not everyone is currently trying to make a change, there’s at least one person who can lead the way to a healthy atmosphere for others to follow. That's what gives me hope, joy, and motivation. In this artwork, I'm trying to convey that although one person who carries hope with them can make a difference to the natural world, our planet is still in crisis and in need of more attention from everyone. As competent common folks, we need to start being engaged and take action. We can help raise awareness, consume less, support renewable energy, donate, etc. As a capable individual myself, I will begin contributing by doing these impactful things so that Earth has a bright future ahead.
