Reflection
Through my study and understanding of current marine conservation, I learned that water, a basic human right, has been privatized and heavily polluted, and that more than a billion people do not have access to clean and safe water. I wondered: if we keep on polluting the scarce water, what will happen in the future? I made this video to raise audiences’ awareness of water protection. First, I set the story in a future in which water is monopolized by the rich, while the poor can only buy water at a high price, or even drink polluted water. The main character used to be able to buy water. After he wasted a lot of water, he couldn’t pay for the water fee and was sent to a factory where the poor worked to get money. There, he found that the rubbish he threw was polluting the water he drink. The “water fee” in the video is not just about money, it also represents the payment for polluting our water.
