What We Can Do

Reflection

When I heard about the Ocean Awareness contest this year, I knew exactly what I was going to have my submission be about. It can feel depressing and hopeless at times, letting the community around you degrade, so I like to remind myself and others that there are still things we can do, and are doing, to help. Film is one of the only ways I have to express myself truly, and that’s special to me. And throughout the process of researching for this video, I actually learned way more about the environment, and the efforts to conserve it. There’s a lot of stuff currently being done to help out in communities all over the world, and congress, while being corrupt and lobbied, can still do good to help our community. If there were to be any one big takeaway from this reflection and my video, it would be that a problem is only truly unsolvable when you decide to give up.
