Reflection
I came up with the idea for my piece by reflecting on how cities often push nature out, replacing green with gray. I wanted to flip that idea and imagine a world where nature is slowly, intentionally reintegrated. The concept of stitching the jungle into the city came from my love for symbolic storytelling—using visual elements like thread to show repair, connection, and healing. My inspiration came from growing up around both nature and urban life, always feeling the tension between the two. I wanted to create a scene that felt hopeful rather than dystopian. Seeing a boy and a tiger walking together was a way to show harmony between humanity and the wild. My creative process always starts with a question—“What if?”—and from there I sketch, experiment with color, and layer meaning through small details. Being creative makes me feel grounded and free at the same time. It’s a way for me to process what I care about and communicate it without words. I chose digital painting because it lets me blend traditional painting techniques with the flexibility to build complex compositions and textures. I’ve worked with it for years and love how it allows for vibrant, layered storytelling.
