Bow Seat Student Artists at the Onset Bay Center

Bow Seat is pleased to join Buzzards Bay Coalition in showcasing environmental art at the Onset Bay Center. 14 student pieces from the 2022 Contest are displayed in the Onset Bathhouse headquarters overlooking Onset Beach. 40 additional student pieces will be displayed in a digital display during the Center’s open hours. Bow Seat is running a workshop in conjunction with the show to encourage close-looking and reflection of student art, in partnership with Dianne Enzian of Dianne’s Art Farm.

More About Bow Seat’s Ocean Awareness Contest:
Now in its 12th year, the annual Ocean Awareness Contest has engaged nearly 30,000 middle and high schoolers from all 50 U.S. states and 138 countries in creative communication for our ocean. Students are invited to submit visual art, writing, poetry, spoken word, film, music, dance, and multimedia exploring critical conservation issues such as plastic pollution, fossil fuel extraction, biodiversity loss, and climate change, with a focus on humans’ roles as both problem-makers and solvers.

Buzzards Bay Coalition believes everyone who lives in the Buzzards Bay watershed should have access to experience its natural wonders. The Coalition’s new Onset Bay Center offers high-quality, on-the-water programs. Through a variety of outdoor activities such as sailing, paddling, rowing, shellfishing, and shoreline ecology, the center helps community members of all ages build a personal connection with our local environment.
