The New England Aquarium, Conservation Law Foundation (CLF), and Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs are coming together to host the annual Right Whale Festival on Central Wharf in Boston. The Right Whale Festival is a celebration of efforts to help protect critically endangered North Atlantic right whales.

This year’s festival is focused on youth activation and will feature family-friendly activities and a whale-themed community art project, as well as presentations by the Adams School Calvineers. There will also be a discussion with Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life scientists and activists working to save the right whale, moderated by photojournalist and Explorer-In-Residence Brian Skerry.

This year’s Festival also features a special art exhibition and awards ceremony to honor students who participated in the 2019 Healthy Whale, Healthy Ocean Challenge, presented by Bow Seat and CLF, which invited K-12 students from the Gulf of Maine region to use their creative voices to raise awareness of the right whale and the need for conservation of marine ecosystems.
