Hosted by the New Bedford Whaling Museum

In February 2020, the Museum welcomed a guest exhibition “Youth Voices for the Ocean” by Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs. The exhibition’s compelling artwork is made even more impressive when you realize that the artists are students from around the globe. From plastic pollution and fossil fuel extraction to biodiversity loss and climate change, these young artists creatively respond to critical issues in ocean health, with a focus on humans as both problem-makers and solvers.

Hear from Bow Seat’s Senior Vice President Alyssa Irizarry about the origins and impact of this global art program, meet award-winning visual artist Gwenan Walker, and take a virtual tour of this powerful collection of artwork exploring our intimate connection with oceans and marine life.
