Audrey Shih has always looked to the ocean for guidance. As a burgeoning environmentalist, she has been involved with the Aquarium of the Pacific, as well as the Youth Action Council in order to discuss issues such as industrial runoff, sound pollution, and more. As a writer, she knows how the environment can be the greatest poet of all, for the sounds of terrible screeching, of a dolphin’s chittering laughter, of the waves breaking against the shore, all nature’s way of rhyming.

Performing has become a major form of advocacy for her: Audrey loves to participate in slam poetry, where she speaks about the numerous environmental and societal topics she wants to bring awareness to.
