Jing Graber

Summer Intern

Jing Graber is an undergraduate at the University of Texas studying biology and researching the effects of microplastics on aquatic systems. Her passion for marine biology has led her to search for scientific solutions to the many stressors facing wildlife, as well as artistic ones through her traditional artwork, underwater photography, and children’s literature. As a published author of the children’s picture book, Can You Sea Me?: A Children’s Guide to Camouflage in the Ocean, she is an avid supporter of outreach and expanding ocean literacy to the next generation of ocean-lovers.

Jing also works to bridge the gap between science and art through her Bow Seat True Blue Fellowship project, FiberFusion, which brings scientific methods of microplastic visualization to life through painting. She believes that investing in public communication enhances and reinforces scientific research and the experiments striving to protect our ecosystems.
