Linda Cabot
Founder & President
Linda is a visual artist, ocean advocate, and philanthropist whose lifelong connection to the sea was shaped by her love of sailing. Inspired by the ocean’s beauty, power, and vulnerability, she founded Bow Seat: Creative Action for Conservation to empower young people to be creative leaders for environmental conservation. Through Bow Seat, Linda has been instrumental in creating global platforms where youth use art, writing, film, and other creative media to deepen their understanding of climate issues and to inspire action.
Linda believes that creativity is one of the most powerful tools for building empathy, raising awareness, and driving positive change. She is continually inspired by the ingenuity, passion, and perspectives of the thousands of young artists and changemakers who participate in Bow Seat’s programs each year.
Linda’s commitment to ocean and environmental conservation and creativity extend beyond Bow Seat. She serves on the Advisory Boards of PangeaSeed, Planetary Health Alliance, and Cool Science. Linda is also a Trustee of the New England Aquarium and of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
Through her leadership, philanthropy, and advocacy, and deep compassion, Linda works to ensure that future generations have the tools, knowledge and inspiration to connect with one another to protect our one blue planet and shape a more sustainable world.
