Sofia Emma Hernandez is a dedicated environmentalist, maker, and community builder committed to sustainable creation. She is the founder of Earth’s Little Hugs, a project launched in June 2025 that breathes new life into discarded textiles by upcycling them into handcrafted teddy bears. Through her initiative, she has prevented over 20 pounds of fabric from entering landfills and donated 100+ plush companions to elementary students and children facing poverty and crisis around the world. To ensure a zero-waste process, she also transforms remaining fabric scraps into upcycled dog toys, inspired by her beloved companions, Mr. Lucky Chewy Cuddles and Lady Lottie Rose. Beyond her textile work, she is an avid badminton player, a passionate writer who enjoys exploring the intersection of environmentalism and creative writing, and a young scientist interested in developing new, sustainable recycling processes. Sofia hopes to use her passion as a catalyst for change, driven by the belief that small, meaningful actions can spark significant environmental change anywhere!
