A Beacon of Hope

Reflection
Millions to billions of people mindlessly go about their day with actions that have countless consequences on the world. I made this artwork to illustrate what’s happening around them and to show that they can stop the path that the world is going on. I want to reach people with my artwork and show them the shape the world is in. However, I also want to give them hope that if they are more aware of their actions, they can preserve the world and turn it back into what it was. I created my piece using colored pencil and watercolor. What really inspired me was what I saw around me every day, especially what I saw in the news. Many people think that their actions don’t matter in the whole; however, I want to show them that it does and that we are not in so deep that we cannot fix what we have done. Through my exploration I found that there are countless little things I could do to help the world. Personally, I will pay more attention to the events that contribute to the death of the ocean such as cars and plastic, to try and stop it as much as I can, because if I don’t, I know that the ocean’s health will only decline.
