Project Description: On our site, we incorporated multiple ways for the viewer to interact with its content. Our website was designed to be an interactive and engaging compilation of art, essays, information, and advocacy to educate people about the issues climate change is exacerbating in the ocean.

Our work is inspired by a love for the ocean and an interest in environmental science and reform. We all live near oceans and have directly seen the tragic effects of climate change on them. We also have a strong interest in computer science and decided that creating an interactive, artistic, and informative website would be the best way to combine our interests and convey the urgency of climate change. Creating our website involved researching environmental issues, literature, and artwork. During our development process, we focused on creating serene, detailed aesthetics to convey the beauty of the ocean to our audience. We found that visually-engaging web designs increased viewership, which inspired our eagerness to learn about style to effectively incite change. What gives us hope is seeing others around us taking action. Often in the media, a light is shone on the negative, but taking a step back and connecting with people with similar passions for environmental reform continually inspires us to advocate for change. We are not alone—we are all parts of the same world. Realizing that there are so many other people who care about our environment gives us hope that one day the climate crisis will transform into nothing more than a reminder of the unity of humanity and the strength of our conviction. To our audience: educate yourself and share your knowledge; it is never too late for change, and always have hope for the future. Only then can we solve the issues plaguing our existence.
