Reflection
I've always known that climate change is a problem. However, I did not understand the full magnitude of the issue until I immersed myself in the research for this project. Therefore, I decided to focus my animation on explaining the effects of climate change and how we as individuals can help to mitigate the harmful effects. Many aquatic species are unfortunately being impacted by climate change. We're responsible for helping the ocean and all of the living organisms in it to ensure the safety and survival of all species. Before this project, I hadn't even attempted animating. I wanted to try something new, and convey this important message in an entertaining way. Using animation as my medium gave me a way to get my point across, and it allowed me to have more artistic freedom. When creating the 2,100+ frames in this film, I was constantly reminded of the harm of climate change, which served as my motivation to finish. Throughout my project, I learned much more about the reality of climate change, and I tried to impart that feeling of urgency in my animation. I truly hope that my film will inspire people to take action, and make a difference. Now that I am fully engaged in this problem, I want to keep advocating for our ocean and raise even more awareness for this topic. Overall, I just want people to know that climate change is happening, and it's everyone's responsibility to help our planet and protect our oceans.
