This watercolor represents the conflict between nature and pollution. Climate change is a major global problem caused by pollution. The illustrations in place of the penguin’s feathers suggest pollution is taking over nature. The penguin itself, which represents all nature on Earth, is on the brink of death and does not have long left before the Earth becomes too warm and the water rises and engulfs its only support. I made this work to show that it is already very difficult to save the penguin and all of Earth’s nature as a result of what pollution and climate change have done to our oceans. We need to act now!
