Earth is our only home. From when we first came down from the trees and lived in caves, it has nurtured us, provided us with food, and watched as we developed and grew. However, we have not shown gratitude to Earth. Every day, we pump out noxious greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, pour permanent plastic into the oceans, and cut down vital trees. We are destroying our habitat; we are destroying our home. My art represents one of many possible fates for humanity. The few remaining humans huddle together in spaceships along with any surviving plants and animals and sail off into an unknown future. Luxuries, which humanity destroyed the planet for, are little more than trash. Trees, plants, and wildlife have become the real treasure. When you are breathing through oxygen masks and fleeing earth, what good is money? If the city you live in is destroyed, nearby cities might take you in. If the country you live in is destroyed, nearby countries might take you in. If the Earth you are living on is destroyed, what then?
