Climate change has had a major negative impact on our world, destroying our homes, killing our animals, and wrecking our environment. In this modern age, climate change has been an ever-present burden looming over our heads, through our overuse of fossil fuels and through our lack of care. Every news outlet, every seminar, and every scientist has lectured about the damaging consequences of this global phenomenon. However, despite the messages of the “inevitable doom” phenomenon many seem to believe, the adverse results of climate change can be prevented if we humans become aware and proactive. By creating this piece, I wanted to portray the harmful effects of our neglect to stop climate change. By purposefully abandoning our Earth, we’re all lighting a match, threatening to burn our only home. Many of the things one can do to prevent global warming do not have to be major. Even a small change can have a major impact. I could walk to places that are less than 15 minutes away, and I could also use the bus instead of a car.
