Reflection
This year with COVID-19 so prevalent in our everyday life, many of us probably felt like there was nothing to do but watch as the world around us was rapidly changing. That feeling of hopeless and sorrow was something I connected deeply with and I wanted to express that in my work. However I realized as the year passed by that the sympathy that I felt could fuel a greater desire to help. I hope that looking at my piece, people can see that once you start to feel a little sympathy for the ocean species going extinct because of overpopulation, overfishing, pollution, and global warming, that can be enough for you to take a small step forward in creating a better home for those animals. Since now the world is starting to reverse back to normal, hopefully people can step out of their personal bubbles and realize how much they can do to change, even with small things like minimizing their carbon footprint and teaching their friends and family about what global warming is doing to us all. Even if it seems small to you, everything is a step towards the direction of saving our Earth!
