It is not stupidity that will drive us to self-destruction, it is merely human nature -- selfishness. Selfishness has forced us as humans to want more. More money. More heat. More power. And because of that need to always have more, it puts animals in a vulnerable place because they don’t have this human characteristic. I live on the water in Maine, and in my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful places, with plenty of sea animals and a coral reef close to home: Cashes Ledges. Both reefs and creatures help to stabilize global warming, but they need help. After all, climate change is the biggest issue of our lifetime, and it is scary to face it by yourself. So we need to help them help us. If everyone transcends the desire to take the easy way out, they will become a Mother Nature helper, too. By cleaning up our planet, we are only helping ourselves and our future, become more giving.
